The Asian Development Bank has raised its 2026 growth forecast for developing Asia and the Pacific to 4.9%. The revised outlook reflects continued strength in domestic consumption, manufacturing and technology investment across parts of the region. However, the bank warns that energy-market disruption, geopolitical tensions and weaker global trade could slow the recovery. Countries that depend heavily on imported oil and gas remain particularly vulnerable to higher prices. The outlook also varies significantly across the region, with some economies benefiting from artificial intelligence investment and supply-chain diversification while others struggle with debt, inflation and weaker export demand.
