Moderation
What moderation means here
Moderation is how we keep RWO usable: reviewing reports, removing content that breaks the rules, and stepping in when a member's behaviour harms others. On RWO it is a mix of member reports and human review by our admins and trained moderators. We don't rely on automated systems to make final calls on people.
Our approach
Community first, humans in the loop. Members flag issues with the report button. Moderators read the context, check it against our Community Guidelines, and decide from there. Popular content doesn't get a pass; unpopular content doesn't get punished for being unpopular.
What moderators can do
- Hide or remove posts, comments, polls, or messages.
- Issue warnings.
- Limit features (for example, posting, voting, or DMs) for a period.
- Suspend an account temporarily.
- Ban an account permanently for serious or repeat violations.
- Revoke a verification badge if it has been misused.
No censorship of opinion
We do not remove posts because we personally disagree with them. Political, religious, and cultural debate is welcome, including views that are uncomfortable, as long as they don't cross into hate, threats, harassment, or manipulation. The line is behaviour, not viewpoint.
Transparency
When we remove content or take action on an account, we tell the affected member what rule was applied where we can. Verified members carry a badge; admins carry a shield icon so you always know who's speaking on behalf of the team.
Appeals
If you believe a decision was wrong, reply to the moderation notice or open a ticket via our Contact page. A different member of the team will review the case.
Report something
